There is no more important cause for electronic freedoms and privacy than the call for action to stop DRM from crippling our digital future.

Plan your October 3rd Action

October 3rd is going to be big in many ways. Hardware manufacturers are gearing up for the holiday season, getting ready to launch new products infected with DRM. By taking actions big and small on and around October 3rd, we'll be sure to let potential customers know about the dangers of these new DRM schemas.

So here is what you need to do:

Step 1: Create your actions

Submit your action with all the details people will need to know in order to signup. Time, Date, Location, Description, etc...

Step 2: Tell your friends

Use the "tell a friend" link on your action's page to email your friends and invite them to join you.

Step 3: Get ready for a good time

Let us know if there is anything special you need that we can help you with. You might want to go scout out the location of your actions (depending on what it is), print up materials, get costumes together. We'll be preparing press materials, including releases that you can customize and use to alert the press in your area.

Step 4: Do it!

This is pretty obvious, but once you've got your action planned, and folks are signed up, it is time to actually do your action, make sure to take lots of pictures, maybe even shoot some video. You can post your pictures on Flickr, tag them with DefectiveByDesign, Oct3, DRM and hte name of your target (like Apple, Mac, iPod). You can also join the DefectiveByDesign Group and add your photos to the pool.
